2025/06/23
Check out the latest BEST mobility highlights! Álvaro Márquez (UAH) and Francesco Nigro (UniSA) presented their research at WiB Talks in TU Darmstadt, covering bio-based 3D printing and genetic algorithms for seismic retrofitting.
As part of the BEST project, Álvaro Márquez from the University of Alcalá (UAH) and Francesco Nigro from the University of Salerno (UniSA) recently presented their research at the WiB Talks, hosted by the Institute of Construction and Building Materials (WiB) at TU Darmstadt.
Álvaro showcased his research on 3D printing with bio-based materials, highlighting his progress during his PhD. He also presented the experimental plan he developed for his upcoming research stay at TU Darmstadt, outlining the methods and goals guiding his investigation.
Francesco made a brief stop at WiB before continuing to his final destination, the Wilhelm Röser und Söhne (WRS) lab in Neresheim. During his visit, he shared insights into his work on bio-inspired optimization algorithms, focusing on the application of Genetic Algorithms for the seismic retrofit of existing structures.
Both presentations reflected the collaborative and interdisciplinary nature of the BEST project, offering valuable opportunities for exchange with the WiB research community.
