Check out the mobility experience of Thaís in UniSA!
Miss Thaís Siqueira, PhD student at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, visited the University of Salerno. Her visit was hosted by Prof. Enzo Martinelli at the STRuctural ENGineering Test Hall, from January 1st, 2024, to March 29th, 2024. Thaís is currently working on developing composite structures made of bioconcrete and laminated bamboo. During her time at the University of Salerno, she had the opportunity to model the behavior of this material and its various connections through numerical models developed in Matlab. These simulations will serve as the foundation for experimental testing of beams in the next phases, with the aim of optimizing connections and material consumption, thus reducing the environmental impact of construction. The laboratory infrastructure and the support and collaboration of Prof. Enzo and her colleagues were crucial for her technical and scientific development throughout this research project.
