The module “Construction Materials” is a mandatory lecture within the Bachelor's degree and diploma program of civil engineering. The lecture includes Material Mechanics (Prof. Dr.-Ing. M. Vormwald) and Building Materials (Prof. Dr. ir. E.A.B. Koenders).

The building materials portion will focus on the most important materials for building construction, specifically concrete. In addition to starting materials for concrete, components such as aggregates, additives, characteristic fresh and hardened concrete properties, and calculations for normal concrete compositions are included in the lecture.
