What is the daily work routine of a quality manager in cement production like?

As part of HDA's “Student E-Learning Experts” program, our project to create short films on job profiles in the field of building materials was funded. In our third video, we present the job description of a quality manager in cement production. The video also offers an exciting insight into laboratory automation at HeidelbergCement's Lengfurt plant.

The goal of the e-learning project was to create short films about job profiles in the field of building materials. In the course of the one-year project, we visited people in different professions at their workplace and learned about their daily tasks and responsibilities. The videos show examples of different job profiles that can be practiced with the knowledge gained from the in-depth courses at our institute.

More information about the e-learning project

These include, among others, materials scientists at universities or research institutes, test engineers in research and development, engineers in construction material recycling, quality officers in production, managers of precast / ready-mix concrete plants, project managers, quality managers in construction and building physicists.

For the third video, we visited the quality manager at HeidelbergCement's Lengfurt plant. Compared to the first two videos, this gave us the opportunity to get to know an exemplary everyday working life in a large corporation. The analyses in the laboratory there are largely automated by robots, so the video also gives an exciting insight into the automation of the testing laboratory.
