Modelling Working Group

Description

The SPP 2436 initiative includes diverse computational approaches to designing Net Zero Concrete binders. This working group will compile modeling methods, key parameters, and contact points to encourage synergies across projects. Emphasis will (initially) be on thermodynamic phase assemblage predictions as a foundation for kinetic and multi-phase modeling, aiming to capture the complex chemistry of cementitious systems.

Within the frame of our Modeling Working Group we aim to further extend the scope of these modeling activities by including various modeling approaches for cementitious systems of the involved SPP 2436 partners. We plan to establish best practices and shared resources, facilitating model benchmarking to enhance accuracy and comparability. Common reference systems will be explored to standardize performance metrics and CO₂/resource impact assessments. Training sessions for early-career researchers will strengthen expertise in advanced simulation techniques, fostering a collaborative environment to drive sustainable binder innovation.
